Texas A&M Central Texas Campus

Location Killeen, Texas Year 2010-2018
Texas A&M Central Texas: Campus construction that embraces the unique landscape and topography of Central Texas.

Nestled between the Black-capped Vireo and Golden-cheeked Warbler habitats, the new Texas A&M University – Central Texas campus chooses to incorporate the native environment rather than shy away from it. Working closely with the design architects, Pacheco Koch provided civil engineering and land surveying services for the first three phases of the new 680-acre campus, slated to develop over the next 20 to 25 years. Having prepared the Master Plan for the campus and established design guidelines for future phases, all facets of university life have been taken into account, from academic buildings and student union centers to housing and athletic complexes. Future preparations included conducting a master drainage study to include hydrologic analysis of the site based on preliminary detention volume requirements, developing a hydraulic model to estimate Base Flood Elevations within the FEMA regulatory floodplains, and determination of preliminary sizes of all roadway culvert crossings in the regulatory floodplain.
