Trinity Forest Trail Hydraulic Analysis
This project was part of the recreation plan associated with the Dallas Floodway Extension project and involved hydraulic analysis and design of three new single-span pedestrian bridges crossing the Trinity River.
Analysis was conducted for multiple tributary crossings, including a new 60-foot pedestrian bridge located in the active conveyance area of the existing Loop 12 Bridge. Approximately 1,100 feet of existing levee located around the abandoned Sleepy Hollow Golf Course was removed to provide additional overbank conveyance and to increase hydrologic connectivity to federally planned wetland mitigation cells. A comprehensive report was produced for the City of Dallas and USACE.
