Sheldon ISD High School and Stadium

The Sheldon ISD new high school and stadium project is located on a 185-acre campus that abuts Beltway 8 in northeast Houston. With a construction budget of $165 million, these new facilities will serve the community for generations to come.

The new high school is a three-story building with a prominent rotunda visible from the Beltway. Also a visual icon, the new stadium is open on the north end providing views onto the field. Adjacent to the stadium is a sports complex that will include football practice fields, tennis courts, a baseball and softball fields and track & field facilities. The District plans to use this premier sports complex for UIL competitions with other school districts.

Pacheco Koch’s involvement on this project included civil engineering, landscape architecture and surveying services. Reviewing authorities on this project include Harris County, Harris County Flood Control District, City of Houston, Texas Department of Transportation and the US Army Corp of Engineers. Pacheco Koch successfully addressed various site issues, such as the avoidance of defined wetland areas, detention requirements, no available surrounding water or sewer services, and variance requirements from the City’s subdivision ordinance. The firm held multiple reviewing authority coordination meetings to keep the project on track.
