DFW Airport Enhanced Parking Structure
Pacheco Koch was selected as part of the D/FW team to design the new enhanced parking structure (EPS) at D/FW Airport’s Terminal ‘A’.
The new parking garage provides close to 8,000 parking spaces replacing the existing three sections of garage which provided 5,000 spaces. The civil scope included site and utility demolition, roadway design of a two-level roadway system with mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls and temporary roadway system, full utility relocation/replacement and replacement of the infield parking lot. The $500 million project was constructed over two and a half years to match the renovation of Terminal ‘A’. Construction phasing and an extremely tight design schedule were the biggest challenges to the project which Pacheco Koch met head on with it’s competent personnel.
