Community & Culture
At Pacheco Koch, we know that our greatest asset is our employees. By creating a relaxed, yet focused work environment, employees enjoy coming to the office and working together to tackle challenging projects on a daily basis.
Employees are encouraged to get involved with various aspects of the day-to-day operations by serving on committees where their voice can be heard and they can play an integral role in shaping the future of the company.
Our primary goal is to provide the best possible service to our clients, and our culture aims to ensure that happens. The culture of our workplace promotes teamwork while fostering productivity and innovation. Pacheco Koch is committed to creating an environment where employees enjoy working together to produce quality results.
Health and Wellness
Giving employees the ability to maintain a healthy day-to-day lifestyle is important to the culture of Pacheco Koch. We offer multiple voluntary programs throughout the course of the year to encourage employees to remain active. From bringing in guest speakers on how to eat right, organizing teams that participate in fun runs and races, or hosting various challenges such as a weight loss challenge or a step challenge, our Health and Wellness committee is always looking for interesting and fun ways to keep employees motivated.
In fostering an environment where employees enjoy coming to work, it is important that they are given the opportunity to get to know one another on a personal level outside of the office. Pacheco Koch regularly sponsors company softball, soccer, and flag football teams that employees are welcome to join. Bowling nights as well as sand volleyball and kickball teams have also been sponsored in the past. Employees are encouraged to participate and many also bring their families and friends to play on the team or cheer them on.
Each team within Pacheco Koch has a Team Organizer of Group Activities, or TOGA. TOGAs are tasked with planning team events to encourage employees to get to know one another outside the office environment. In addition to team events, the TOGA committee members coordinate two events every year for the entire company. These include an annual summer event as well as an annual holiday party where everyone comes together to celebrate the holiday season.
Pacheco Koch offers various training programs for employee participation. Monthly “Lunch and Learn” meetings are held where a technical presentation is given by employees so that lessons learned are shared amongst the group. Brown bag presentations are brought in on a regular basis and webinars are hosted to give employees the opportunity to remain up-to-date with industry issues, refresh technical skills, and earn continuing education credits for their professional registrations.
As civil engineers and land surveyors, our careers help us to shape and improve the community around us on a daily basis. It is important that we give back to the community that gives so much to us. At Pacheco Koch, we encourage employees to remain active in the community through sponsorship of many programs throughout the year. As a firm, Pacheco Koch participates in various community involvement activities including CANstruction, Hearts and Hammers, Race for Wishes, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Walk for a Cure, and volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House. We also host various events on a regular basis such as a blood drive to help Carter Blood Care as well as a merit badge event for local Boy Scout troops where Engineering, Surveying, and Drafting merit badges are offered.
